This site has gone through a lot of changes over the years. As my ministry opportunities have taken me across the U.S., then to the Middle East and Asia, this site has transformed along the way.

I am entering my eighth year in Mongolia as the leader of Eagle Television. What I thought would originally be a two-year commitment has turned into something much larger and beyond my wildest dreams.

When I came to Mongolia in November 2002 the ministry was at a crossroads. To be honest, even before I left my home in Orlando, there were signs of trouble. One day I received a call from the Board Chairman that hired me, Craig Lawrence. "Tom, I don't know how to tell you this but there might not be a station to go to next week." 

I will never forget that call. I had already resigned my position with Campus Crusade headquarters. Craig followed up with, "You might not want to sell your house yet."

I laughed and said, "Too late. It sold yesterday."

"Yesterday" was also the day I put it up for sale.

Craig Lawrence, being a man of incredible faith in Christ, understood perfectly when I continued, "If the Lord wants me to go to shut down the station for you, then so be it. But if the situation changes and His plan is for me to run it for you, then so be it. Let's just stay on course and see what the Lord does."

Ironically, what the Lord did during the next several months was put us into a position where we had no choice but to shut down Eagle TV. Have you ever tried to pack up a whole TV station in four hours in the dead of night? What a challenge! Yes, God had brought me to Mongolia to shut down Eagle TV even though I didn't want to. But He had also brought me to Mongolia to wipe the slate clean and start the ministry again.

What the Lord has done in the last six years is far beyond anything I could have imagined when I took the job in 2002. Today we operate not only a full service TV station with the most respected newsroom in the country, but we also operate additional ministry projects taking Christ to Mongolia and from Mongolia to elsewhere in Asia. And the results, as you will see from exploring this site, are amazing.

You can also learn a lot about Eagle TV's history from the American ministry that owns the operation, AMONG Foundation. But here on these pages I'd like you to see inside Eagle TV the way I see it, as well as life in Mongolia and my other pursuits, both personal and professional. This is, after all, a personal website. In many ways this site is about me and my view on what we do at Eagle TV. But I can't help myself, so really, it's about Eagle, our staff, and our wonderful host country of Mongolia.
